If you’ve been dealing with fibro for long, chances are you’ve tried a LOT of medications. There is also the chance they cause more side effects than relief. It’s common practice with chronic pain like fibromyalgia to work your way through a list of the latest meds, then the older meds, then all the damn pills, three times a day.

Are you as tired of it as I was? I hear that! Let’s talk about some other remedies tried and true fibro warriors have tried and gotten some beneficial results from using.

Even the smallest mustard seed can grow

It’s always scary to LGBTQ in my headlines. The people I most want to talk to are afraid of it.

When you have a strong belief system that doesn’t affirm the LGBTQ community AND you have a loved one who is a member of that same community, things can get a little dicey.

Even hearing the language common to being LGBTQ is offensive to some people, right on down to an acronym. We all do this about things we don’t like. …

A lot of people have a rough time accepting that someone they love is a member of the LGBTQ community. It conflicts with everything they believe.

a.k.a Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin isn’t in ANYBODY’S Bible

A funny thing happened on the way to this blog post. I was finishing up another piece, and I thought of a note I had written. Somewhere. I am not exactly what they call “organized”. At all. Add to that a short-term memory span of about 10 minutes, and you can see where this is going, can’t you?

So, there I was, distracted me on my mission to find the note to create the things to make the money? Easy, yes? Not so much. Distracted me can find a rabbit hole in a fox den.

After slugging through several different…

And How to Do it Anyway

“I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” Pablo Picasso

I would love to tell you how learning to become a genuine ally for the LGTBQ person in your world will come naturally and easily, especially if you have a deep abiding faith in God. The problem is, for many faithful believers, it’s hard. It feels like asking a believer to throw away everything they have ever believed to be the truth. Ugh.

That’s why I always ask people just to be willing to learn. Just open up your…

L is for Learning All You Can

In my new adaptation of LGBT, the letter L stands for learning. No matter what your EMOTIONS are telling you when your loved one comes out, I can guarantee you that choosing to learn more about things is going to open doors to conversation and communication in your life- if you’re willing.

WHAT??? I think you should LEARN about something you don’t even agree with? Yes. I do. If it was good enough for my high school algebra teacher, it’s good enough for you and me too.

So here are three tips to help you become a powerful, loving ally to your person without giving up on who you are.

3 Solid, Powerful Tips to Becoming a Loving LGBTQ Ally

And Start Praying for Your Heart Instead

Photo by Jaclyn Moy on Unsplash

It’s time to stop spending your prayer time asking for your LGBTQ loved one to wake up straight. You only wind up filled with anguish and pain, which your human mind turns that pain into anger instead of helping you find a way to keep your family from imploding in such a difficult time.

STOP Trying to Pray Away the Gay

If you’re like me, when you first learned someone in your family is gay, lesbian or transgender, you hit your knees. You poured out your pain in tears and pain. You cried out to God and empathized with Job. …
